The following are available upon request (additional charge):

  1. Kitten’s DNA test (incl. PKD and HCM)

All kittens from Dearfold will be ready to go home when they reach at least 12 weeks of age. The first 3 to 4 months are essential for kittens to bond with their mothers to develop a healthy immune system, great socializing skills, and overall well-being. It is also a key time for kittens to learn many cat behaviours such as knowing how to use the litter box. Kittens that leave around 3 to 4 months old are best known to be more adaptable in their new home.

Some changes may apply to the info outlined above depending on the litter.

Health Guarantee

Health is our #1 priority, therefore we make all efforts to ensure that healthy kittens are born.

Before mating, we confirm that our kings and queens have compatible blood types to increase the likelihood of healthy offspring. Additionally, all our cats undergo DNA testing to check for genetic disorders such as PKD, HCM, FELV, and FIV. Kittens with the N/N genotype do not carry the PKD1 variant and are therefore not at risk of inheriting polycystic kidney disease. However, please note that we are not responsible for non-heritable PKD and HCM.

We require early sterilization (spay/neuter) as we believe it has a positive impact on a kitten's well-being and health.

All kittens adopted from us come with 1 month free of pet insurance as well as a 12-month health guarantee (details are outlined in the contract).
